Magical New Zealand!

Our travel story is saturated with nature, volcanic beauty, great New Zealand pies and amazing views around every corner.

24th november – 13th december 2025

Far away, where a new day is born, away from the mad world, lies the land of the Maori, called Aotearoa – the land of the long white cloud. Made up of North and South Island, it houses volcanoes, geysers and the cold Antarctic wind, and its lakes, mountains and glaciers are among the most beautiful in the world.

New Zealand has been a world unto itself for so long that it offers the traveller the endless beauty of primitive nature, ancient Maori culture, beautiful beaches and a specific way of life that is as close to Kiwis as New Zealanders are to the rest of the world.

It’s a journey to the other side of the world, so far away that you’ve probably never been so far from home. And yet the country is so fascinating that there isn’t a traveler who doesn’t miss it when they leave. There are many surprises waiting for you.

Kaj lahko pričakujete?

A country where the saturation of colours in nature is unparalleled to the rest of the world.

We’ll start on the North Island, where you can visit the land of the Hobbits – so beautiful that it inspired the creators of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. We’ll walk through the famous caves in Waitomo, illuminated by small blue lights – glow worms. In Tauranga we’ll first notice the contrasts between the white beaches, the blue ocean, the green nature and the lively towns. We’ll explore the Coromandel Peninsula in kayaks and dig our own hole in the sand on the beach, where we’ll enjoy a hot jacuzzi.

In Rotorua, we’ll meet giant sequoias and learn about Maori culture in a traditional village. The stunning mineral colours of the magical Wai-o-Tapu will convince us that volcanic activity is very much alive on the North Island!

We will cross the Martian landscape of one of the most beautiful treks in the world, the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. The setting is so incredible that the climax of the Lord of the Rings movies was filmed here.

After the beautiful capital of Wellington, we’ll fly to the South Island, where we’ll spend most of our time in the great outdoors, but still staying in comfortable accommodations.

We’ll do some short but incredibly beautiful treks, including to glaciers (Fox Glacier, Franz Josef). We’ll take unforgettable photos at the foot of New Zealand’s highest mountain, Mount Cook, and sail into the heart of the mighty fiord Milford Sound. We’ll admire weeping mountains, thousands of waterfalls and streams, and greenery embracing the green.

You’ll be able to climb to New Zealand’s most beautiful vista, skydive over enchanting Queenstown and hike over the wetlands of Glenorchy.

There are also the beautiful lakes of Wakatipu, Hawea and Wanaka, while Pukaki and Tekapo impress with their inexorable turquoise colour. New Zealand is recognised as the world’s best destination with the clearest night sky, we’ll enjoy an evening in the Dark Sky Observatory for cherry on top… after relaxing in the hot springs overlooking the surrounding snow-capped mountains.

This is Magical New Zealand.

Z vami potujeta 2 guides.

We travel for 19 days and Nočitve in double rooms in hotels or motels (3*+).

New Zealand is by no means known for an excess of superb hotel facilities, yet the accommodations are still expensive (NZD 200+ per night). Sometimes private rooms don’t come en-suite, so we’ll use shared bathrooms 6 times.

New Zealand enters summer tourist season in November. The days are slowly getting longer, with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 30°C. There is a significant difference in temperatures between the North and South Island.

We are exploring the country with rental vehicles. We chose this way of travel for several reasons, but the most important was the flexibility of our itinerary. Private vehicles allow us to drive through remote roads, and we are not burdened with the time restrictions of a bus-driver. We drive the vehicles ourselves, and 2 guides will do most of the driving. New Zealanders drive on the left side of the road, which means that certain elements in the vehicles are in a different position than we are used to.

We advise you to pack light – we move on a daily basis and a smaller luggage allows you to be more mobile.
There will be two laundry opportunities at no extra charge (on days 9 and 16).

Our group is small, which allows us to work faster in logistics and have more family-friends-like atmosphere.
There is no extra charge for a small group.

The journey is designed dynamic. It includes walks and treks (which you can skip if you don’t wish to do them), daily changes of accommodation, daily driving between places. Our days will be long, but not too tiring. On average we spend 3 hours a day in cars, but those 3 hours are mostly very panoramic and with many stops.
